FIEGE to become Recusana´s new Healthcare Logistics Partner
Greven-based logistics company takes over eCommerce fulfilment for the e-tailer specialising in wound care.
FIEGE has been handling eCommerce logistics for recusana GmbH since the beginning of the month. The specialist retailer for wound care which is part of the McKesson Corporation – a leading global healthcare company – distributes dressings, hygiene supplies, and skincare products Germany-wide. In future, the logistics company will handle order picking, packaging, and shipping for all online orders from its multi-user location in Münster.
“As an experienced partner for healthcare logistics, FIEGE met all crucial hygiene and quality requirements such as Good Distribution Practices”, Johanna Scholze, Managing Director recusana GmbH says. To increase the operational performance of its online shop, the specialist retailer went looking for a new logistics partner. Scholze: “Together we will offer an even faster, much improved service for our customers.”
The logistics company will be taking charge of recusana’s storage, picking, and packing for a broad range of wound care supplies. For this, all orders placed with the recusana online shop will be transmitted after interfacing with the order system. Germany-wide shipping to retail and commercial customers will be handled by CEP service providers. Logistics are processed at the Münster branch were FIEGE also performs services for other clients from the medical technology and pharmaceutical sector.
Cordula Brockmeyer, Head of Business Development FIEGE Healthcare, outlines the requirements of the new business: “Especially the B2C market comes with the challenge of needing products delivered as fast as possible and at the best quality to the end customer. This applies naturally and especially in the context of the Good Distribution Practice.” Working in separated, at times temperature-controlled zones calls for special know-how and well-trained personnel. The Münster location is ISO 13485 and GDP certified. “We are well prepared and look forward to the beginning of our collaboration with recusana”, Brockmeyer adds.
