FIEGE'S new building in the hafen district: excavation has started
Movement on the B side: Excavation has started for the modern office building which FIEGE is building in Münster’s Stadthafen I. Preparations for the bored pile wall to waterproof the retaining walls have been underway since September. The FIEGE family business will have around 10,000 square metres of useful area at its disposal once the new building is completed.
“We are pleased that, despite the tense situation for raw materials and the Covid-19 pandemic, we are still very much on schedule”, says Kai Alfermann, Managing Director Real Estate at FIEGE. And the result will be worth the wait. “Throughout the entire project development, we placed great value on our new building blending in carefully with the overall architecture of Kreativkai. It also scores with its sustainable design and very high energy efficiency”, Alfermann explains.
The edifice, where up to 550 employees will find a workstation in a modern working environment, is scheduled for completion in 2024. Next to light-infused offices and conference rooms, a restaurant on the ground floor and an underground carpark are further features. Additional spaces will be made available for outside tenants.
Plans for the former premises of Lehnkering started more than three years ago. Kleihues & Kleihues architects from Dülmen won the architects’ competition which FIEGE initiated in 2019. The immediately adjacent stand-alone building will be the new administrative headquarters of Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe (ÄVWL).
