Strengthening digital participation in social institutions

FIEGE regularly donates disused and refurbished IT equipment to educational and social institutions in the Münsterland region. The family-owned company recently handed over a total of 30 laptops to the association Lernen fördern e.V. in Greven and Outlaw, a non-profit organisation for child and youth welfare.
Digitalisation and participation: The FIEGE Group is once again supporting the youth welfare organisations Lernen fördern e.V. and Outlaw gGmbH with a laptop donation. A total of 30 devices that are no longer needed in the offices of the Greven-based logistics company can now be used by the people cared for by the organisations – mainly children and young people, as well as female refugees or immigrants. The refurbishment and handover of the discarded but fully functional laptops was organised by the Josef Fiege Foundation.

Rebecca Gratz, IT support coordinator at Outlaw, says: "The donated laptops enable young people in our residential groups to take advantage of digital learning opportunities, complete their homework efficiently and create job applications. This support plays a key role in promoting their personal and professional development. We would like to thank the Josef Fiege Foundation for this valuable contribution." Nazanin Voskort, deputy manager of the Greven location of Lernen fördern adds: "In today's society, digital participation is decisive when it comes to promoting equality and a responsible use of digital media. This is why we are very happy that we can expand our programme thanks to FIEGE's laptop donation and use the devices as part of our integration agency."

Martina Schlottbom, who together with Kai Alfermann, Christoph Mangelmans and Frank Sievers forms the board of the Josef Fiege Foundation, explains: "We have worked closely with Outlaw and Lernen fördern in the past and are very happy to continue our cooperation with another laptop donation. We are particularly glad that we can ensure a meaningful and sustainable second use for the IT equipment that is no longer used in our family business, in youth welfare and in the care of refugees, while at the same time supporting two great institutions in the Münsterland region."
