FIEGE Austria: Ronny Bürger succeeds Gerhard Pavlas as Managing Director
Gerhard Pavlas is retiring after eight successful years in the Management Board of FIEGE Austria. His successor has already been found. Ronny Bürger will in future be responsible for the logistics provider's Austrian business alongside Michael Jahn.
Changes on the management board of FIEGE Austria: As of January 1, 2025, Ronny Bürger will succeed Gerhard Pavlas, who is retiring after eight successful years at FIEGE. Bürger is to continue the growth course of the Greven-based and more than 150-year-old family business in Austria. He will join Michael Jahn, who has also been Managing Director of FIEGE Austria since 2020. Bürger, 48, previously worked for Peek & Cloppenburg for over 20 years in various positions and was most recently responsible for the fashion company's distribution centres in Vienna.
“First of all, a huge thank you to Gerhard Pavlas for his great achievements for FIEGE Austria over the past eight years and for our successful and trusting collaboration,” says Vinko Castrogiovanni, Managing Director of FIEGE's Southern Europe & Alps business unit. “Gerhard played a decisive role in developing our business in Austria and the expansion of our Vienna site. He paved the way for our new construction project in close proximity to our existing logistics centre, which will be completed in the early summer of next year and will provide our clients from the fashion, healthcare and consumer products industries with an additional 20,000 square metres of logistics space. We sincerely wish Gerhard all the best for his well-deserved retirement.”
Pavlas is currently still working side by side with his successor, Ronny Bürger. Michael Jahn explains: “Ronny Bürger has been part of the team since July to ensure a smooth and seamless transition in the Management Board.” Jahn is confident that Bürger is the perfect candidate for the role of Managing Director. “Ronny has a great deal of expertise in fashion logistics. His experience will help us to continuously develop our business, to make it even more efficient and to align it more closely with the needs of our clients.”
Bürger is looking forward to taking on the new challenge: “My first few months at FIEGE have only served to increase my excitement about the new role. With our existing logistics centre and our almost completed new facility in the heart of Vienna, we have built a great foundation to succeed on the Austrian logistics market and offer our clients state-of-the-art solutions in eCommerce. I look forward to working with our team to ensure that FIEGE Austria continues to grow in the future.”
